How to Add Horizontal Stabilizers to your MSP430 LaunchPad.

Video tutorial:

This tutorial demonstrates the simplest and most versatile way we have devised to adapt the MSP430 LaunchPad for use with breadboards. This method is even better than our previous MSP430 LaunchPad Tutorial on this subject, which demonstrated a quick way to change the headers from Male to Female. The tutorial in this video shows our latest method, which is superior because not only is it faster and easier to do, but the new method results in an MSP430 LaunchPad which is compatible with Breadboards as well as BoosterPacks! You can even use them both at the same time with this modification!

In the spirit of the Rocketry/Aeronautical naming convention used by Texas Instruments for the MSP430 LaunchPad Family of products, we have dubbed this modification "Horizontal Stabilizers". The video will demonstrate how to make the modification, and how it works.

If you have a need to remove or replace the headers on the Launchpad, or remove almost any through-hole soldered component from virtually any PCB for that matter, you will want to check out our previous MSP430 Launchpad Tutorial, which shows our technique, which can be adapted for many other projects.
