After routing all competitors in the WRA2 Class "A" Altitude record competition, the X-10 rocket was unainimously nominated for entry into the Water Rockets Hall of Fame, Joining older sibling "X-7", who was inducted earlier this year after becoming the first Water Rocket to break the 1,000 foot mark carrying a camera. Both rockets, recruited for competition by Team U.S. Water Rockets have set new standards for the sport of Water Rocketry.
X-10, like all other inductees, has undergone the mandatory screening before being officially inducted into the Hall of Fame. In the high stakes game of Water Rocketry there has been an increasing number of rockets attmepting the record while taking Performance-enhancing chemicals, such as CO2 and LN2. Other entrants have attempted to bend the rules by employing unapproved equipment or unreliable scoring methods, according to WRA2 spokesmen.
After a brief ceremony where X-10 was formally inducted, there was a short press conference and photo-op after which X-10 returned home to begin training for the next launch. U.S. Water Rockets Team Managers say that they have been taking it easy up to now and have been holding back X-10 to avoid injury. The may just loosen the reigns now that X-10 is firmly placed in the history books.
